Estos monitores cuentan con las certificaciones ecológicas EPA 5.0, TCO.5 y EPEAT de oro que garantizan que las características de los productos registrados sean favorables para el medio ambiente.
AOC presenta su nueva línea de monitores Aire.LED que tienen un grosor de 12.9 milímetros y una tasa de contraste dinámico (DCR) que supera los 50,000,000:1.
La línea Aire.LED viene con el programa Screen +. Esta función es especialmente beneficiosa para aquellos usuarios que trabajen en distintas aplicaciones simultáneamente. Screen + permite dividir la pantalla del monitor en hasta cuatro paneles individuales para una mayor productividad.
El montaje en la pared es otra de las características que más se destacan en esta línea. AOC Aire.LED no solo permite el montaje en la pared para ahorrar espacio en el escritorio, sino que también posee la funcionalidad de soporte VESA con inclinación para cumplir con los aspectos ergonómicos de la visión estándar. Colocado en la posición convencional, la bisagra alcanza hasta 20 grados de inclinación.
Al igual que el resto de los monitores LED de AOC, esta nueva línea se caracteriza por un bajo consumo de energía ya que consumen un máximo de 20W en función normal mientras que en modo de espera logran un nivel de menos de 0.1W.

Según expertos de Kaspersky Lab, existen cerca de 1,73 millones de componentes de malware para PCs que tienen específicamente como blanco las contraseñas y los datos de acceso de las plataformas de juegos online.
Para los hackers, los jugadores online son víctimas ideales porque están acostumbrados a utilizar sus ordenadores en otras transacciones online, como operaciones bancarias y compras. De esta manera, ofrecen una abundante fuente de datos a los criminales, incluyendo detalles sobre tarjetas bancarias, y contraseñas de otros servicios web, como redes sociales. Los jugadores muchas veces no son conscientes de los riesgos que asumen al participar en determinados juegos en red.

Según un nuevo estudio realizado por BitDefender durante un período de dos semanas, los usuarios de redes sociales no parecen estar muy preocupados por la identidad real de las personas que conocen en línea o sobre los detalles que revelan hablando con extraños.
BitDefender advierte a devotos de redes sociales tener cuidado al aceptar solicitudes de amistad y de ser consciente de los datos que comparten.
Según un nuevo estudio realizado por BitDefender durante un período de dos semanas, los usuarios de redes sociales no parecen estar muy preocupados por la identidad real de las personas que conocen en línea o sobre los detalles que revelan hablando con extraños. El estudio reveló que el 94 por ciento que solicitan “ser amigo" en el perfil de la prueba, una mujer desconocida, joven y atractiva, aceptó la solicitud sin saber quién era realmente el solicitante.
La muestra incluyó a 2.000 usuarios de todo el mundo inscritos en una de las más populares redes sociales. Estos usuarios fueron escogidos al azar a fin de cubrir diferentes aspectos: el sexo (1.000 mujeres, 1.000 hombres), edad (la muestra osciló entre 17 y 65 años con una edad media de 27,3 años), profesión, intereses, etc. En la primera etapa, los usuarios fueron objeto solamente de añadir el perfil de prueba desconocida como amigo, mientras que en el segundo paso conversaciones con usuarios seleccionados al azar como objetivo determinó qué tipo de información revelan.
El estudio demostró:
- Más del 86 por ciento de los usuarios que aceptaron la solicitud de amistad del perfil de prueba trabajan en la industria de TI, de los cuales el 31 por ciento trabajan en seguridad de TI. La razón más frecuente para aceptar la petición de la prueba de perfil de amigo era su “cara bonita" (53 por ciento).
- Después de una conversación de media hora, 10 por ciento reveló información personal sensible, tal como: dirección, número de teléfono, nombre de la madre y el padre, etc - por lo general la información solicitada como respuestas a las preguntas de recuperación de contraseña.
- Dos horas más tarde, el 73 por ciento revelaba lo que parece ser información confidencial de su trabajo, como las estrategias de futuro, planes, así como las tecnologías / software aún no liberados.

A pesar de que el fenómeno de los falsos antivirus es relativamente moderno (apareció hace unos tres años), el 11,6% del total de muestras de amenazas informáticas recopiladas en 21 años pertenece a esta categoría.
PandaLabs alerta sobre la proliferación constante de falsos antivirus (también conocidos como rogueware): el 40% del total de ejemplares diferentes se han creado en lo que lleva el año 2010.
Desde que apareció este tipo de amenaza informática hace cuatro años, se han clasificado 5.651.786 ejemplares únicos y diferentes de falsos antivirus: de este total, 2.285.629 han aparecido desde enero a octubre de 2010.
Si se analiza el total de ejemplares clasificados como este tipo de amenaza informática con respecto al total de la base de datos de Inteligencia Colectiva de PandaLabs, el 11,6% son falsos antivirus. Todo ello, teniendo en consideración que la base de datos del total de malware contiene los ejemplares detectados a lo largo de los 21 años de historia de la compañía, y que los roguewares aparecieron hace sólo cuatro.
La sofisticación de sus diseños, el realismo de los mensajes utilizados y el poderoso gancho social que supone el pensar que la salud de la PC está seriamente amenazada sigue funcionando, ya que son, cada vez más, los usuarios que siguen cayendo en este fraude. En lo que va del año, el 46,8% de las computadoras mundiales están infectadas con todo tipo de malware: el 5,40% lo están con este tipo de programas.

Mientras los códigos maliciosos se diversifican y comienzan a encontrar nuevos vectores de ataque, el malware en plataformas móviles empieza a incrementarse debido al aumento en su tasa de uso.
Si bien Windows continúa siendo la plataforma más atacada por el malware, los ciberatacantes se encuentran migrando sus objetivos hacia otros sistemas operativos en función del incremento de su tasa de uso, según informa la empresa de seguridad informática ESET.
Sebastián Bortnik, Coordinador de Awareness & Research, explicó que, de acuerdo al nivel de desarrollo de códigos maliciosos para cada sistema operativo, Windows podría representarse por medio de la figura de un anciano, Mac OS por la de un adolescente y Linux por un niño mientras que las plataformas móviles – las últimas en integrarse al mercado- serían un bebé.
El 84,3% de los usuarios de Windows ha manifestado haber sufrido infecciones de malware durante el 2010, según una encuesta realizada por ESET Latinoamérica. El principal medio de infección resultó ser los dispositivos removibles con el 24,7%, seguidos por los sitios web (19,5%) y, luego, por el correo electrónico (14,5%).
El segundo lugar con referencia a la madurez del malware es para Mac OS. En los últimos años se han detectado diferentes códigos maliciosos para estas plataformas siendo el primer virus para MAC/OS, MacMag, aparecido en el año 1987. Además resulta relevante el incremento de la detección del troyano para Mac OS detectado por ESET NOD32 Antivirus como Mac/Hovdy.B en enero y febrero de 2009 y la aparición en abril de ese mismo año de la primera botnet para Mac OS, Mac/Iservice.B.
Linux, el niño de la familia, se ubica en el tercer lugar. En los últimos años, este sistema operativo ha sido víctima del ataque de troyanos y rootkits. Cada uno de estos códigos maliciosos constituyen herramientas que le permiten al atacante esconder las actividades dañinas llevadas a cabo en el servidor de archivos (Linux/Rootkit.Agent); propagarse por cada nodo de la red con plataformas GNU/Linux, incluidos otros servidores (Linux/Lion) y realizar escuchas en la red (Linux/Sniffer.Sysniff); entre otras actividades intrusivas.
Finalmente, las plataformas móviles son dispositivos cuyo uso intensivo se haya cada vez más generalizado, motivo por el cual se convierten en blancos de interés para los desarrolladores de malware. Según una encuesta realizada por ESET Latinoamérica, el 96% de los usuarios dijo estar preocupado por la seguridad en dispositivos móviles pero sin embargo, al ser consultados por las soluciones de seguridad utilizadas, sorprendentemente el 74% declaró no implementar ninguna. Además de los códigos maliciosos, en el caso de los smartphones y pocket PC’s, la pérdida de información confidencial o privada y el robo o extravío del dispositivo son riesgos adicionales.
“El desarrollo de malware para plataformas móviles será una tendencia creciente en los próximos años dado el notable incremento en la tasa de uso de estos dispositivos por parte de los usuarios y empresas", afirmó Bortnik.
La ausencia de plataformas “adultas" en relación al desarrollo de los códigos maliciosos se debe, como explicó el experto, a que durante años los ciberatacantes han dirigido sus esfuerzos hacia el sistema operativo de Microsoft, dada su preeminencia en el mercado. Actualmente, con la migración de un mayor número de usuarios hacia otras plataformas y la adopción masiva de dispositivos móviles, estas actividades maliciosas han diversificado sus objetivos hacia estas “nuevas" plataformas en busca de potenciales víctimas.
“Estos sistemas operativos representan nuevas oportunidades de ataque que los desarrolladores de malware no están dispuestos a desaprovechar. Por eso, es fundamental mantener los equipos protegidos con una solución antivirus y de seguridad con capacidades de detección proactiva de amenazas y educar al usuario para fomentar la prevención", concluyó Bortnik.

Chalk es un juego de disparos aéreos con un concepto bastante original: en lugar de usar disparos y misiles, tu principal arma será una tiza con la que pintarás sobre el escenario.
Chalk se maneja con el ratón. Mientras que el botón derecho sirve para marcar tu desplazamiento, el izquierdo lo utilizarás para trazar líneas blancas que deberán pasar por determinados puntos. Gracias a esto, podrás destruir obstáculos, acabar con tus enemigos y sobrevivir a los correosos jefes finales de cada uno de los seis niveles que componen el juego.
El aspecto gráfico de Chalk es muy acorde a su planteamiento: decorados y personajes aparecen dibujados a mano, en pocos colores, y todo el juego respira una estética naíf que no ha de engañarte, pues su dificultad es elevada casi desde el comienzo.
Si quieres probar un matamarcianos diferente, que exija destreza y velocidad por tu parte, Chalk es un título muy recomendable.

El entorno de RegRun Reanimator utiliza pestañas e iconos gráficos para presentar en pantalla todas las funciones del programa. A primera vista es algo caótico debido a la gran cantidad de pestañas disponibles pero en pocos minutos es posible hacerse con su funcionamiento.
Cabe destacar que el uso de RegRun Reanimator no es trivial. Si no tienes conocimientos avanzados sobre registros, archivos dll y procesos es posible que eliminar elementos que puedan afectar al correcto funcionamiento de tu sistema.

MASGAU es una herramienta gratuita para crear y gestionar copias de seguridad de los datos de tus videojuegos. No solo MASGAU detecta decenas de juegos, sino que también vigila sus carpetas en busca de cambios en los perfiles y partidas guardadas.
La pestaña principal de MASGAU contiene la lista de juegos detectados, desde la cual puedes crear un backup para todos ellos o solo para los que tú elijas. La ruta de guardado se define en la pestaña Settings (por desgracia, no admite servidores FTP).
En Restore verás todas las instantáneas ordenadas por juego, usuario y fecha; un doble-clic y los datos se restablecerán. Si quieres purgar las copias de MASGAU, haz clic con el botón derecho sobre el juego en la pestaña Backup y elige \"Purge\".
MASGAU es eficiente y rápido. Detecta más de 350 juegos, y aunque todavía falten muchísimos en su base de datos, tienes la posibilidad de añadir rutas a mano o modificar el listado games.xml, sito en la carpeta de instalación.

La cuarta versión de Mozilla Firefox se ha hecho esperar más de dos años. En ellos, hemos visto cómo sus competidores mejoraban sustancialmente, pero por fin podemos decir que Firefox 4 está aquí para ocupar su merecido puesto entre los mejores navegadores web.
En esta primera beta de Mozilla Firefox 4, verás que llama la atención poderosamente su nuevo diseño. Siguiendo las tendencias generales, se han eliminado botones y colocado las pestañas en la parte superior para mejorar la accesibilidad. También se ha potenciado la barra inteligente de Mozilla Firefox y, con escribir las primeras letras, el navegador localizará cualquier pestaña ya abierta a la que quieras regresar.
Pero no todo son mejoras visuales en Mozilla Firefox 4. Esta versión beta goza, además, de optimizados motores de renderizado y de Javascript, de procesos independientes para las extensiones y los plug-ins, para evitar que el programa se cuelgue por culpa de módulos externos, y de más compatibilidad con estándares como HTML5, además de reproducir vídeo WebM de forma nativa.
Aunque, en esencia, Mozilla Firefox 4 no va a suponer una revolución para el navegador, la beta deja entrever las muchas mejoras que posee y las tantas otras que están por venir. No dudes que, si eres fiel usuario de Mozilla Firefox, esta nueva versión volverá a enamorarte. Pero eso sí, al tratarse de una beta en desarrollo, has de probarla bajo tu cuenta y riesgo.
